All Services

  • IMMUNIZATION AND WELLNESS CARE

We strive to prevent illness whenever possible. The time and effort invested in Wellness programs has rewards for both pets and owners. Our Wellness programs are designed specifically for your pet and include: Comprehensive physical exam; internal parasite testing; heartworm and flea control; vaccination program; spay and neuter package; and specialized blood tests for all life stages.

  • MICROCHIPPING

Microchips have helped reunite thousands of pets with their families. We offer the most widely used microchip products to increase the chances of a safe recovery. The picture shows Brandy being scanned for her microchip.

  • DENTAL CARE

Regular professional cleaning is important to maintaining your pet's teeth. We use modern and safe ultrasound to clean each tooth thoroughly - above and below the gum line. Dental technicians polish teeth to create a smooth, lustrous tooth surface more resistant to plaque buildup. Fluoride treatments help strengthen enamel and reduce tooth sensitivity. Advanced dental care is available, including root canals.

  • ULTRASOUND

This non-invasive, state-of-the-art technology uses sound waves to painlessly examine specific internal organs, primarily the heart and abdominal organs. Pregnancy exams are also available. These examinations are painless and done with the pet completely awake and lying on a comfortable cushioned table. Ultrasonography can be employed to aid in the diagnosis of heart disease, cancer, infecions, bladder or kidney disease, and adrenal gland disorders. This examination usully takes about 1 hour, and results are immediately available

  • PAIN MANAGEMENT

Veterinary patients feel pain and discomfort under the same circumstances as people do. We know that recognizing and alleviating pain in animals is the essence of good patient care.

  • FULLY STOCKED PHARMACY

We stock a wide range of the best veterinary drugs in the animal healthcare field.

  • ENDOSCOPY

High-tech fiber optics permits direct visual examination and biopsies of your pet’s gastrointestinal system. This allows for more accurate diagnosis and treatment of oral, esophageal, stomach, colon and even upper intestinal tract disease. Foreign objects can also be removed without the need for surgery.

  • LASERS

Lasers are a minimally invasive alternative to traditional surgery. Lasers replace scalpels in many procedures, and are useful for a wide range of conditions, such as cyst, tumor, and wart removal, and can even be used in declawing. Laser procedures result in less pain; less bleeding and less swelling. They reduce risk of infection and result in less post-operative discomfort.

  • RADIOLOGY

Radiology – or X-rays – help our veterinarians evaluate muscular-skeletal, cardiovascular(cardiopulmonary), gastrointestinal, reproductive and urinary systems.

  • SURGERY

We offer the most advanced surgical techniques and technology. All patients are carefully screened for safety, and anesthetics are specifically tailored to your pet. Surgical services and facilities include: board certified surgeon available for consultation; fully trained veterinary and technical staff, to ensure the safest, most efficient, state-of-the-art procedures for your pet; heated surgery tables for greater comfort; advanced sterilization techniques; ECG and oxygen saturation monitors; intensive after surgery care and full blood testing.

  • BIRDS, REPTILES, RABBITS AND SMALL MAMMALS

Veterinary medicine for exotic pets is growing as the popularity of these animals increase. With better public education in health, nutritional and environmental management, all species have a greater chance for living longer and healthier lives. We employ staff veterinarians who possess experience in the care and treatments of exotics.

  • HOSPICE/EUTHANASIA SERVICES

Saying goodbye to a long-time friend is painful. We work with clients to ensure their pet's comfort and dignity. Services include taking care of the remains as directed by the client.

  • BATHING

Treat your pet to a luxurious bath. Our special, cleansing baths remove dirt, debris and that doggie pet odor – your pet will feel fresh and revitalized. If scratching is a problem, our medicated baths contain soothing agents that stop the itching. Services also include nail trim and ear cleaning.

  • GROOMING

Duluth Animal Hospital's groomer, Joyce Bagley, received her Master Groomer Certifiate in November 1991. She joined the hospital in 1992. Joyce is available Monday through Friday from 8 am to 3 pm. Call for appointments early, as she frequently has pets scheduled a week in advance. Joyce advises that pet owners start brushing and touching their pet's feet and face area as soon as they become a member of the family. This should become a part of the pet's grooming routine. The animals enjoy the one on one attention. Joyce welcomes all breeds, shapes and sizes.

  • BOARDING

Our staff welcomes your pet(s) to our boarding facility. We will provide clean, comfortable accomodations for your pet when you are away. Pets are like our children and we want their experience safe and happy as possible.

Typically most pets do well when boarded. Others may experience separation anxiety and become stressed during boarding. We closely monitor for  "stressed boarders" and watch for symptoms such as lack of appetite, diarrhea, sneezing, or self trauma. If a pet exhibits these symptoms we will attempt to contact you, but if unable to we will treat and advise you when you return.
